{pretty, happy, funny, real}

I'm joining the ladies at Like Mother, Like Daughter for {pretty, happy, funny, real} this week.

Chloe's First Communion Dress was made out of my wedding dress by a wonderful local lady. The dress had been sitting in my parents' basement for almost 10 years, and I decided that this would be a much better use for it. It turned out wonderfully, and Sophie is hoping that it will fit her when it is her turn.

Rhubarb cake is in season! I think that fruit- based desserts are definitely my favorite. Well, maybe they tie with cheesecake :-)  (don't mind Joseph's mosquito bites on his face)

Kevin took this picture a couple of months ago, but it cracks me up every time I see it. Kevin calls it "MC Joey B".

Found at the bottom of my washing machine.

  1. What a beautiful communion dress... and such a great idea!! Maybe I could figure out some way to do this, too. Those littles have a knack for looking like rappers don't they (I have one of them!)? Also, the legos and rocks in the bottom of the washer is all too real! Thanks for sharing!

  2. Yum, rhubarb cake! And what a fabulous First Communion dress, it is beautiful and so special!

  3. The communion dress is lovely-what a great way to put your wedding dress to use! That will be a treasure to pass down to grandchildren!

  4. What a beautiful dress! Precious kids! There is always *something* at the bottom of my washer!

  5. My little girl said "She's SOOOO beautiful!" when she saw Chloe's picture. :) And I find similar things in my washing machine--esp the legos!

  6. I love the idea of sharing an item from one sacrament to another. The dress is meaningful and beautiful.

    You're invited to share your First Communion pics & story at my linky for First Communion.

  7. Love the idea for the communion dress. I have always hoped to have a daughter to wear my veil. So far I have two boys though, and I doubt either of them want it!
